Rembrandt van Rijn
Rembrandt van Rijn was a Dutch painter, etcher and drafstmean. Rembrandt was born in Leiden on the 15th of July in 1606 - and died in Amsterdam on the 4th of October in 1669. He is generally regarded as one of the greatest painters and etchers in European art, and as the most important Dutch master of the 17th century. Rembrandt produced a total of about three hundred paintings, three hundred etchings and two thousand drawings. You can visit the house were Rembrandt lived between 1639 en 1658. Nowadays it is a museum and is located in the Jodenbreestraat in Am at number 4 and around the corner you will find the fleemarket called Waterlooplein.
